Kristin Sullivan, PhD
Public Health Advisor

Dr. Kristin Sullivan supports CWW with program direction and operations. She is responsible for providing programmatic, budgetary, and governance expertise to ensure that CWW’s programs are compliant with all interests while governing existing relationships. She participates fully in conducting research, designing new initiatives, providing key technical and strategic support to the population-based programs, and analyzing and mapping program data across multiple regions.
Kristin joined the CWW team in 2022, bringing over 15 years of experience as an infectious disease epidemiologist. Before joining the CWW team, she worked for the states of Massachusetts and North Carolina, focusing on communicable disease surveillance and the control and prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases. As a consultant, Kristin conducted surveys for organizations in low-resource settings and developed training on the principles and practice of communicable disease control. As a research assistant, she primarily supported a trachomatous trichiasis surgery clinical trial being conducted in Ethiopia. Her dissertation research focused on: (i) the relationship between water, sanitation, and hygiene and active trachoma, and (ii) gender equity in trachomatous trichiasis surgical management.
Kristin holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from North Carolina State University, a master’s degree in public health from Boston University, and a PhD in epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
