ICSPM Survey Sample Builder Tool
Michael Deming, MD, MPH, Consultant, Children Without Worms
This tool is an adaptation by Children Without Worms of the Sample Survey Builder for Coverage Evaluations, developed by the Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center. Its purpose is to help STH program managers design an integrated community-based survey for program monitoring (ICSPM), a household survey that measures the prevalence and intensity of STH in three risk groups: preschool-aged children (PSAC), school-age children (SAC) and women of reproductive age (WRA). The tool selects clusters with probability proportional to their estimated size in segments and then creates lists for the systematic sampling of households within a segment chosen at random from among the segments in each selected cluster. It produces an equal-probability sample of the members of each STH risk group.
